Neighbour 2 Neighbour

Project:

The Deban Brunette Literacy Program has been providing literacy support to local schools for over 15 years. Formerly the Jack Parent Reading Program, Neighbour to Neighbour decided to rebrand in honour of Deban Brunette and her instrumental efforts in building the program.

We focused in on the program’s multi-layered audience: educators, parents, children, and donors. We knew we wanted to reflect Deban’s joy through colour while creating a brand that could be flexible as the program continues to grow. Integrating N2N’s brand colours emphasizes their role in running the program while allowing the DBLP to stand strong on its own.

During our research, we encountered a quote from Deban: “I planted the seeds. I won’t get to see them grow, that’s up to you.” This quote informed the brand’s tagline, Planting the seeds for success, and emphasizing the essential role early literacy plays in childhood development.

The new brand is playful and bold, drawing inspiration from children and capturing the attention of prospective supporters, donors, and volunteers. We’re thrilled to have given a new look and feel for this essential community program and can’t wait to see their work continue to impact our city.
